Sophomore Year
This year, I am on the Action Faction, a team of 53 kids led by Mr. Laszlo Folks and Ms. Aliza Cruz. Laszlo is our Humanities teacher, and Ms. Aliza is our chemistry teacher. This year, our three Guiding Principles are Think forward, Be uncomfortable, and Take Action. When we say think forward, we mean that we will think creatively toward the future, and understand the impact of our choices. I plan to incorporate this into our projects and my life by continually keeping a positive attitude and really thinking about the consequences of my actions before doing them. Being uncomfortable means taking risks, embracing differences and pushing through your fears. I plan to use this in projects and in life by not being afraid to do something new and unexpected, embracing the different beliefs and views of different people, and not being limited to just what I know I am good at. Take action is pretty self explanatory; instead of just saying you will do something, just do it. I plan to use this throughout this year, and beyond, by everyday, leaving whatever it is better than the way I found it.
I am also in Ms. Yoli Soler's advanced Spanish Speakers Spanish class.
